Sorry to hear that Milah! It's better having no than loosing one, I should know.
My 12 year old Labrador died in January and I still haven't recovered right. He grew up with me and protected me like nothing else in the world mattered. It was hard to say goodbye...

Wow! I raised 36 Labrador pups (we bred with Labradors) in I think 3½ to 4 years. It is impossible now with my male gone but the female is still with us. We had another Golden Labrador, but he got poisoned, 2 Jack Russels, one got snake bite and other disease. He kept 2 of our Labrador pups, but they also died. They 7 month old one got poisoned and got a deadly sickness called Cat Fever at the same time. The 2 year old one got shot by the Nature Conversation.

It's hard, but I think it'll be worse tomorrow. Because it will be my first birthday without my dog since I can remember.

I have lost dogs before, its not fun I had a cat, Bubbles the rag doll cat, but he got eaten by a coyote (Dislikes coyotes now) I have two Black-lab/Border collies who are both brothers: Rocky (because of the Rocky Mountains that are across the street) and Chocolate (because of his brown chocolate coat) And my own pet, Snakelle the ball python.

Yes, sometimes when we are eating s'mores we can hear one barking and yipping as if he was many coyotes. But when a coyote barks its short and fast so it sounds like a whole pack. We have never seen a pack just one. I live in a forest/field kind of area. We can't get rid of the coyote though he helps keep the rabbit population down.
